Freshwater Parish Council
The Parish of Freshwater is a thriving rural community with a vibrant economy based mainly on agriculture and tourism. The village has a bank, a post office at the Co-op supermarket, and two convenience stores.
The council meets in the Memorial Hall, financed by public subscriptions and donations from local philanthropists. It is dedicated to pioneer photographer Julia Margaret Cameron who started the
public subscriptions.The village has a library, sports centre with gymnasium and swimming pool, multi-use games area, skate park and recreation ground.
Love Freshwater Bay
There are good beaches with safe bathing, facilities for other sports from horse riding to paragliding, clean fresh air, and extensive bridleways and footpaths.
There are many local walks. Routes from Moa Place take you across the cliffs, downs, farmland and beaches of West Wight.
